Julie Abraham Dick is an associate at Nijman Franzetti who focuses her practice in areas of Environmental Law and Litigation. Ms. Dick has experience with various aspects of environmental regulatory and litigation matters including toxic tort litigation, CERCLA and the Clean Water Act. She has counseled clients on compliance with state and federal environmental laws and regulations.
Prior to joining Nijman Franzetti, Ms. Dick served as the president of the Chicago Recycling Coalition (CRC) and as a staff attorney at the Chicago Legal Clinic Environmental Law Program, where she also interned during law school. She represented the CRC to government officials and the media, including television, radio and printed press. She successfully negotiated matters with the City of Chicago leading to the city-wide roll out of a source-separated curbside recycling program. In law school Ms. Dick interned at the Illinois Pollution Control Board, where she drafted opinions and orders for air, water and land cases including: adjusted standards, enforcement cases and rulemakings. Prior to law school she worked with environmental and public health issues related to pesticide use, indoor air quality and waste management.
Ms. Dick received her J.D. from Chicago-Kent College of Law in 2007 with a certificate from the Program in Environmental and Energy Law. She received her B.A. from Kalamazoo College in 1999. She is admitted to the Illinois Bar.
